Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou born Beaumont, the French city of Puy-deDomme on August 9, 1976. She is the oldest child of 4 children. Her parents, who were a dentist and a school teacher, supported and encouraged her initial passion for drama as well as theatre. She initially hoped of becoming a specialist in monkeys was surpassed by her desire to learn about drama and theater. There was an immediate rise in her career to become a well-known young actor. After completing her degree she was invited to participate in Jeunes Premiers which is a French show on TV that is a talent-scouting initiative, which is that was sponsored by Canal+. There she won the award for Best Young Actress in the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. This led her to embark on a acting profession. Tautou was a member of the church as well as the Institut Catholique de Paris during her youth, however she is now separating herself from the aforementioned societal influences. As well as her acting profession she also pursued a modeling career. It is her turn to be the spokesperson for L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and is often referred to as The Chanel Muse. Additionally, she is a keen interest in photography and recently produced an exhibition of her work during the Arles Festival under the title Superficial. Her work is focused on celebrities and the fame. It also features a series self-portraits and a focus on journalists that have scrutinised Tautou since her meteoric popularity following Amelie. Audrey Tautou became a star and gained international recognition with her first role in Amelie Poulain from Le Fabuleux Destination d'Amelie. Amelie has been a box office hit internationally and praised at many award shows around the world. It's the largest French language film to ever be released on the US. The success of this movie has led to Tautou being cast in a range of roles, including British dramas such as Dirty Pretty Things by Stephen Knight and Jean Pierre Jeunet to Hollywood's The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
